Setup

Setup

Use this guide to prepare your Linea workspace for a smooth launch.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • An approved Linea workspace or demo environment.
  • At least one company domain you plan to use for email.
  • An internal owner for IT or operations.
  • A list of initial admins and users.
  • Access to your DNS provider if domain verification is required during rollout.

Recommended setup sequence

1. Create or confirm your workspace

Your Linea workspace is the top-level environment for your organization. During setup, confirm:

  • Company name and primary contact.
  • Primary domain.
  • Workspace region or deployment details, if arranged during sales or onboarding.
  • Initial admin users.

2. Prepare your domains

If you plan to send or receive mail on Linea-managed domains, prepare:

  • DNS access for domain verification.
  • Mail routing and cutover planning.
  • Any security records required by your deployment, such as SPF, DKIM, or DMARC.

Keep a record of every DNS change and the expected propagation window before moving production traffic.

3. Define admin ownership

Before inviting users, decide who owns:

  • Platform administration.
  • Security and access reviews.
  • Billing and subscription management.
  • API and integration ownership.

For most teams, a shared ownership model works best: one operational admin, one security owner, and one billing contact.

4. Choose your launch approach

Most teams use one of these rollout models:

  • Pilot launch for a small group of users first.
  • Department rollout for one team at a time.
  • Company-wide launch after testing and migration are complete.

A pilot launch is the safest default because it lets you verify mailbox flows, permissions, and policies before a full rollout.

Setup checklist

  • Workspace created.
  • Domains identified.
  • DNS access confirmed.
  • Admin owners assigned.
  • Initial users selected.
  • Billing contact selected.
  • Security review scheduled.
  • Launch date agreed internally.

After setup

Continue with Onboarding to invite users, validate mailbox behavior, and complete your first production rollout.
